Boxing Sport Memorabilia

Signed sport memorabilia supplies all your sports memorabilia gift ideas, with classic authenticated signed sports memorabilia hand signed by the sports legend themselves.

We are currently categorising and scanning a selection of our signed sports memorabilia collection to upload to this specialist website. This signed sport memorabilia website will continue to grow as my collection is reorganised and everything is scanned/photographed. We will end up with something in the order of 3000 to 5000 items of sports memorabilia on this website.... simply locating, scanning and writing descriptions for this amount of memorabilia is very time consuming so come back often to check on our progress.

I started collecting autographs as a keen nine year old and traveled to lords and the oval with my mate Dave and his dad. My first autographs collected was at the oval when a steward at the gates told me to get an old man.We sprinted off after him and duly got our prey to sign. On returning to the steward, he told us that our prey was the Surrey scorer. My heart sank and decided that the steward was not as helpful has I had thought. The autograph signed turned out to be HERBERT STRUDWICK who had in fact been an English test cricket player - Quite a good start not fully appreciated at the time.

My collecting bug started to bite and soon I was attending West Ham, Tottenham and Arsenals football training camps.

Football and cricket were my main collecting passions until 1980 when I attended my first boxing world title fight between MINTER and ANTUOFERMO. This was the start of me attending 11 world title bouts in England, Scotland and America. I have seen some great boxers and been lucky enough to have had personal signing session with a few. But more importantly, you get to spend 15-30 minutes with the boxer himself.

Some of the celebrities that have signed for me have been very good and answered my questions, laughed and joked their way through the signing sessions. Some have grunted and groaned and given one word answers and made it quite clear they are not interested in answering questions.

Next I took an interest in collecting Tennis memorabilia and bought photos of tennis players and then attended Eastbourne, Queens and Roland Garros (French Open) to get my photographs autographed.

Film and TV stars were next to be added to my signed memorabilia collection. These 'Stars' tended to have different reaction to autogrograph collecters and were often less than eloquent in offering their suggestions about other activities I could be persuing with my time, rather than standing in front of them blocking their way. Unfortunately many modern sports stars are fast approaching the film star attitude of offering helpful suggestions...

The most exciting thing about collecting is how easy it is to start collecting something different. I started collecting signed cricket memorabilia, then football, now my collection covers not only most sports but also film, astronaugts, authors....... this is not an exhaustive list and tomorrow I could start collecting some other type of signed memorabilia. I have also bought many items to add to my collection that I hope/plan to get signed later. However sometimes it's not possible because people die, disappear or become recluses and refuse to sign anymore.

From time to time I help and assisted a major auction house in authenticating and pricing their catalogue items of signed sports memorabilia.

I have recently moved house and have sorted through my collection and found that I have many duplciate autographed items, which I have decided to sell in order to buy other unique items for my personal collection. To do this I have teamed up with someone to put this website together in order to achieve this aim.
